If you've been using Bloom on your phone's browser, you might be wondering when it'll be available as a proper app. Good news — it's coming. We're currently working through the developer stages for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and we can't wait to share it with you.
In the meantime, there's a simple way to get the same experience right now, without waiting: adding Bloom to your home screen. Once it's there, it opens just like any other app — no browser bar, no searching for the link, just tap and go.
Here's how, for iPhone.
Adding Bloom to Your iPhone Home Screen
- Open Safari and go to bloomsupportapp.com.au
- Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
- Tap “Add” in the top right corner
That's it. You'll now see the Bloom icon sitting on your home screen, ready whenever you need it.
Note: this method currently works through Safari specifically — it's the browser Apple supports for this feature on iPhone.
What About Android?
We're building for Google Play too, and we'll share the same kind of home screen shortcut for Android users soon. In the meantime, Android users can add Bloom to their home screen through Chrome in a similar way — tap the three-dot menu, then “Add to Home screen.”
Why We're Doing It This Way
Building an app the right way takes time — especially when it's handling something as personal as your family's records. We'd rather get it right than rush it out. Adding Bloom to your home screen now means you don't have to wait to start using it — including everything in the free version the way it's meant to be used: privately, simply, and whenever life needs a little more organising.
We'll keep you updated as we move closer to launching on both app stores.
